 I.  Introduction:

  SKY SHINE PLATFORM CWDM Device of Capability Enhanced by SS-WDM-04 Virtual Fiber-optic is a sort of multi-service processing and transmission device that SKY SHINE designed especially for point-to-point applications. It provides interfaces such as ATM, Gigabit Ethernet, STM-1/4/16 and OC-3/12/48 on the basis of a transparent transmission platform constructed by SS-WDM-04 virtual fiber-optic capability enhancing devices, which can fulfill upstream/downstream transmission services at various speed including 100/155/200/622/1000/1250/2500M, and entirely increase the performance/price ratio of the optical network platform.

Its maximum capability of single system is 4×2.5 Gbit/s. It applies one piece of fiber-optic, and every pair of bidirectional service occupies two wavelengths in the same fiber-optic. The device adopts a box structure of 19” rack, of height 1U and depth 180 mm. The product can be mounted on the standard 19” rack, with the front panel providing optical interfaces for channels and lines, working and alarm indicators, 10/100M auto-negotiating network management interfaces, RS232 network management commissioning interface etc., and the rear panel providing AC 220V / DC -48V power supply socket interfaces and power switches etc.

 

  II.  Main feature.

  •         Protocol transparency: seamless connection with Ethernet, SDH network and fiber channel, including interfaces such as ATM, GIGABIT ETHERNET, STM-1/4/16 and OC-3/12/48;

  •  Transparency of bit rate: auto-negotiating receiving and transmitting speed 45Mbps~2.5Gbps;

  •  Transmission distances of diversified specifications: 30km, 50km or 80km;

  •  The fully-deployed capability is four pairs of service of single fiber; cascade connection helps the four pairs of service easily upgraded into maximum eight pairs of service;

  •  Various network modes: point-to-point networking modes for four pairs of service in single fiber system or eight pairs of service in dual fiber system;

  •  Various fiber access modes: single mode, multi-mode;

  •  Access of multi-wavelength: 850nm, 1310nm or 1550nm;

  •  Optional two types of power supply: AC 220V or DC -48V;

  •  Compact structure of 19” rack, occupying less space and consuming less power; convenient installation and operation;

  •  Open structure, available to be interconnected and intercommunicated with different devices manufactured by others;

  •  Optional network management methods, providing management interfaces such as SNMP and Telnet.
