  I.  Introduction

SS-MUX-100 time-slot multiplexing unit is a modular pattern in a box structure. It is designed to realize multiplexing function of connecting Ethernet, V.35, RS232, and/or RS422 interfaces to E1 interface. It can support up to 4 service ports, two of which are relatively stationary, with RS232/RS422 optional; the another two can be selected from V.35 or Ethernet. It can operate in optionally ADM or TM mode, allowing for flexible network construction. It provides network management monitoring for the whole network which makes management and maintenance easier.

  II.  Features

1)            It provides two transmission interfaces which can be flexibly configured as ADM or TM. In TM mode, it is possible to realize one-to-two-point networking. In ADM mode, the interface can shoot through in the case of power failure.

2)            Transmission line is E1 line, supporting framing and non-framing applications.

3)            It provides four service interfaces. Two fixed RS232/422 asynchronous serial ports, with interface rate auto-negotiating within the range up to 20kbps. Two optional V.35 synchronous serial ports or Ethernet bridge. The port data rate of synchronous serial ports is n×64kbps. Ethernet bridge supports VLAN.

4)            The transmit-phase of V.35 interface is adjustable, and the receipt is auto-negotiating.

5)            The whole network can be monitored. It is provided with RS-485 network management ports. SNMP agent may be integrated.

6)            Network management function: Out-band network management is provided with HyperTerminal of RS-232 interface, and the NM software for connecting 485 NM interface or SNMP agent. In-band network management transfers data using TS0 of E1 frame or an assigned time slot.

7)            Loop-back and test: local loop-back and remote loop-back, payload loop-back and in-band loop-back, built-in BERT.

8)            It has line monitoring function, and can store 80 latest time-stamped events.

9)            Any alarm can be masked.

10)        Liquid crystal display.
